COMMUNITY Outreach

Our Ministry in the Edgehill Neighborhood

Our mission is to facilitate a unified program of outreach ministries to the Edgehill neighborhood and larger Nashville metro community.  We seek to position EUMC as a strategic base from which we in our Christian witness move out to the structures of society.

Room in the Inn is an emergency winter shelter program serving 12 guests every Tuesday night November - March.

Organized Neighbors of Edgehill (O.N.E.) which was begun years ago by EUMC, it is now an independent community organization with whom we are involved in a wide effort to improve the quality of life within the Edgehill community boundaries.

O.N.E./Barnes Scholarships are given to persons who live in the Edgehill neighborhood for college or post-high school education programs.  EUMC members serve as committee members, partners with scholarship recipients, and donors to the scholarship fund.

Edgehill Community Garden is operated as a place to grow food in cooperation with Organized Neighbors of Edgehill as a place to be with people who share their neighborhood with us.

Slow Pokes is our ministry to and with those who are elderly within the Edgehill community.  At a monthly meeting lunch is served followed by a time of sharing, singing and expressions of concerns.

Justice Ministries advocates a justice of restoration and transformation, not of punishment and revenge.  EUMC lifts up before the congregation the biblical call to live justly and to do justice, as individuals and as a community of faith.

Belmont/Edgehill Partnership enables our two churches located with close proximity in the Edgehill and Hillsboro Village communities to cooperate in a variety of efforts to meet human need, advocate for community development and support one another in a variety of community outreach endeavors.
